Yes Lance, it was a pleasure to work with LOUISIANA RED at the Corner House all those years ago. We 'topped and tailed' the numbers he wanted to do at rehearsals, in what seemed like about thirty minutes, no fuss. On stage he passed solo's to all the band and was a great band leader and so easy to follow. A really nice guy and very 'humble' unlike most of the visiting Americans that we had supported or backed during those years. We felt as though we were an integral part of his appearance and the time on stage with him was precious. His treatment of the songs he performed were certainly Blues but with Red's stamp fixed on them. He was a one-off performer and we shall never see the likes of him again. Great memories of a Great Bluesman, Rock on Red wherever you may be. |
