Very sad news indeed. Condolences to Micks family.
The Jazz Man team are saddened to hear the news re Mick Danby. Mick kindly gave some of his time last year to the doc; we will forever be thankful for his contribution and good stories!
Devastating news, sincere condolences from the Soundpower Orchestra to Teresa.
Condolences from all at Ashington Jazz Club.
Thank you.
Teresa, Mick's wife.
Thank you Don. Mick loved his time with Soundpower, he was proud to be a part of it.
It was very sad to hear that Mick Danby, superlative bass player and first class human being has died this week, after an illness of over a year. He played for us several times, and was a warm, witty generous bloke. He'll be missed by many.
best wishes Hazel
Mick, tuned our piano here at the studio regularly and was always warm and entertaining. unlike many other piano tuners Mick actually learned his trade while making pianos for bespoke piano builders Lawrence and Nash. I have used other piano tuners since but none have ever had the same level knowledge and skill especially when attention to detail in piano repair was concerned. He had the biggest tool kit and an even bigger heart.
RIP, Mick,
The last of the old school piano tuners. You are sorely missed.
